Dear Fellow
Woman,
We would like to invite you to share your power
with us. We would like to invite you to share how you know
your power, what it looks like in your life, what form it
takes, how it breathes, times you may have forgotten it and
those moments when you have lived it freely!
We are
producing a project, a compilation of visions and voices. It’s
a compilation of our stories, our stories of power. It began
quite spontaneously. . .
About 3 years ago my sister,
Uzuri, and I started a local women’s circle. The women in our
circle met monthly at a celebration called ‘Luna’. Its purpose
was to honor each other and celebration ourselves. That’s what
we did!
About 1 year into the celebrations we began a
segment called ‘Stories of Power’. One woman each month would
share her story, her story of power. She would share what
power was to her, how she knew it, what it meant to her, times
when she forgot it, how it lived in her life today. Each woman
got creative with how she shared it. This segment quickly
became not only the most beloved by the women in the circle,
but also the most powerful and impactful.
Women in the
circle began to see in those moments, not only the
vulnerability in the women speaking, but also in themselves.
They began to see more than just the faces, titles, roles, the
businesses and professions of those women they had been
sitting in circle with for an entire year. They began to know
them as women. Women just like themselves. They began to feel
a kinship with their stories; stories that they too could
relate to. Moreover, they began to see their own stories in a
new light. A light of compassion, acceptance, love and even
joy where there might once have been pain.
And through
the stories, month after month, a through line emerged. Every
woman could connect with one, or more, aspect of each woman’s
story. Night after night, more than tears where shed, so too
were the layers, as the veils came down. And not just in that
circle. In the end we all began to know, at a depth that could
not be orchestrated, that we are all integrated in a web of
inclusion so deep and intense no words could give witness to.
In a circle, that threads more than just ours, an intimacy
emerged in each of us, that showed herself in the soul of our
circle, through the intimate expressions of our stories, and
rippled further into our lives, touching our families, our
relationships, our professions and businesses, our spirits,
and every touch point of society we reached.
Those
nights inspired this series. Those nights, those women,
inspired: HerStory, Our Stories of Power. This series is
dedicated to Her. The Her that lives in each of us. The power
of our stories, the power of its shared message, the power of
Ourselves and the through line that emerges when we share
those stories, when we share ourselves with the world around
us by simply being Who We Already Are.
‘You are all
you need to be, right where you are’. Share it. Share it with
us. Let us share it with the world. Let Her inspire in us the
power that lives in us all, through a story that begins to
look a lot a like when we listen to Her.
Please
download the questionnaire to guide you through the sharing
process. Most importantly though, simply share what comes to
you, the memories that are inspired in you, the feelings that
arise, the visions in front of you, the smell of it, the taste
of it, the inquiry of it. . . Listen to your power. Let Her
speak to you. Open your self up to its truth, and simply share
what comes. Trust that what is guided is meant to be shared
and will serve its purpose. Submit the completed questionnaire
via the email link provided when ready.

Finally, thank
you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for being you. Thank you
for sharing it with us. Simple acts do have grand impacts.
Sincerely,
Shannon
